The Temple of Ramses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II. There is the temple of Queen Nefertari, also known as the Small Temple, was built about one hundred meters northeast of the temple of Ramses II and was dedicated to the goddess Hathor and Ramses II’s chief consort, Nefertari.
